Hi,
I have a VT2142 cabled to a Dlink DIR655 router, which is cabled to a Dlink DCM-202 cable modem. Should QOS be enabled on the VT2142 only, the DIR655 only, or both, or neither? TIA for you help.

Set QoS up on the D-Link.
It will then be important to make sure that all of your other devices (Vonage, PCs, etc.) are connected to the D-Link and not to the VT2142.
In any case you should only enable QoS on one device and this should generally be the one that everything else is connected to.
Hope this helps. |

One other thing I would highly reccomend doing is to disable SIP application level gateway on your D-Link router. It can cause some problems with Vonage. |

Each answer brings more questions. Should I disable the VT2142 firewall? IOW, should I keep only one hardware firewall? TIA.

You can leave the settings on the VT2142 as they are. As you have described your setup, its not doing anything other than acting as a telephone adapter. |
